Cookie policy

This page is the detailed companion to the privacy policy. It lists what funlitgames.com stores on your device, who puts it there, what it does, and how to get rid of it.

Funlit Games itself sets no cookies. Everything below is either browser local storage used by a game, or a cookie set by one of three third-party services.

Game saves (local storage)

The games store progress, level completion, star ratings, high scores, settings, achievements, in your browser's local storage. This stays on the device and is never sent to a server. It keeps progress available after the tab closes.

The practical consequence is that your saves are tied to one browser on one device. Clearing site data, using private browsing, or switching from your phone to your laptop will start you fresh. The current browser builds do not offer account-based restoration. Clearing site data for this domain removes it.

Advertising, Google AdSense

Some pages carry ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies to serve ads, measure whether they were seen, limit how often you see the same one, and, where permitted, personalise them based on your previous browsing.

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you are shown a consent choice before any personalised ads are served, and you can change that choice later. Everywhere else, you can turn personalisation off directly in your Google Ads settings, or opt out of third-party ad cookies more broadly at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu.

Google's own explanation of what it collects from sites using its services is here. Turning off personalisation does not remove ads; it makes them less relevant.

Analytics, PostHog

I use PostHog to see which pages people visit, which games get played, and how long sessions last. This is what tells me whether a game is worth making a sequel to, and it is the only reason it is here.

PostHog sets a cookie to recognise a returning browser so that two visits are not counted as two people. Data is processed on PostHog's EU servers, and I do not intentionally send it anything personally identifying. Requests are proxied through my r.funlitgames.com subdomain.

To opt out, enable Do Not Track in your browser, the site honours it, or block the subdomain, or use any content blocker.

Contact form, Formspree

The contact form is handled by Formspree, which may set cookies for spam protection when you submit a message. These are only relevant on the contact page and only when you actually send something. If you never use the form, they never appear.

What is not here

As of the date above, the site has no login, newsletter tracking, social-media pixel, or advertising retargeting operated by Funlit Games. Funlit Games does not sell visitor data.

Turning all of it off

Every browser can block or clear cookies and site data for a specific domain, usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking everything forfunlitgames.com will stop the advertising and analytics cookies and will also wipe your game saves, since those live in the same storage. The games will still run.
